Prefabricated Concrete Sectional Garages Don’t Have to Be Boring!

When my partner suggested we get a concrete garage as an alternative to an extension I was horrified. He laughed and said that they weren’t as bad as they sounded, but quite honestly I wondered just how glamorous prefabricated concrete sectional garages could be? I couldn’t get the image of a drab, grey concrete box sitting outside my lovely red brick house out of my mind.

In an effort to convert me he convinced me to go along to my local display centre to look at concrete garages. I am happy to say I didn’t see a single drab, grey box but a whole array of great looking garages that would match the outside of my house just perfectly. When we looked at concrete garage prices I was also really surprised at how little they cost, especially when I was considering spending twenty thousand pounds on an extension. Obviously a garage isn’t an extension but it was just what we needed to store all the bulky items we brought with us when we moved in together. There was no way I was going to allow his six foot wooden giraffe statue into our new home! He wasn’t happy with it having to stay in the shed so the other option was to get some more space, hence the garage.

The range of prefabricated concrete sectional garages was surprising. From pebbledash to brick cladding, there was a finish to match most buildings. The different roofs that were available also added a surprising amount of style to the garage. There were some lovely terracotta tile effect roofs that would go just nicely with most homes. I decided to get an Apex roof as it meant we could store even more things in the garage for little extra cost.

The impressive thing was that the garage was delivered and erected on the same day. This was great as it meant I didn’t have to take time off work as they could come on a Saturday. The concrete garage prices we were given included the electric pack, electric up and over door, uPVC window and access door. The cladding on the garage looked really nice, not at all as I had imagined a concrete garage would look!

We couldn’t wait to move our stuff out of the shed and the spare room into our new garage. We were amazed to find that we still had lots of space left, of course I don’t think this will be the case for long as my partner is already talking about getting a bar set up in there so he can have his friends round!

I am so glad that I changed my mind about prefabricated concrete sectional garages. They don’t look remotely concrete or boring and have given us a brand new room to use in our house after clearing out the spare room. I’ve turned the newly emptied spare room into a gym so while my partner is entertaining his friends I’ve got my own things to do.
